Abstract: Various strategies were followed to minimize emissions in diesel engines through fueland engine modifications. Researchers confirmed that the challenge of emission productions isstill a problem which needs more research works in both fuel and engine combustion techniquesto cope up the tough emission standards. Application of dieseline (blend of diesel and gasoline)was found one of the strategies of adapting fuel characteristics to make it more appropriate for premixed compression ignition combustion. This study investigated emission characteristics fordifferent ratios of dieseline direct injection on PCCI-DI combustion mode diesel engine setup. In this setup methanol port injection was used in forming a homogenous pre-mixture. From thisexperimental study by applying dieseline parallel reduction of NOx and smoke as well as relativereductions of HC and CO were achieved together with the optimized operating control parameters. Increased diesel proportion at lower loads resulted decrease in NOx, HC and smokeemissions. In comparison to the baseline results there is reduction of NOx in all load conditionsand minimized trade-off relations between NOx and smoke. The increased proportion of gasolineincreased the HC and CO proportions.
