Abstract

Abstract: Effective use of solar ducts is limited by their maximum operating junction temperature. This investigation was conducted using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methods. Ducts are used in thermal airflows such as power plants, shopping malls, and industrial applications. The main study was performed on artificially roughened semi-circular V-ribs with different relative gap widths. Air and channel material aluminum (Al) were used as the heat medium.CFD was used for the analysis and the model was developed in CREO 5.0. To validate the CFD model, we will compares Nusselt numbers and friction coefficients with experimental and the design of semi-circular V-ribs with different relative gap widths.
