Abstract

This work presents a smart prosthetic hand aimed at improving usability and safety for people suffering from limb loss. Dual Control It also has dual ways of being controlled - by voice command with the help of an Android application or by tracking a gazing user through a camera to adjust movement according to the user’s field of view. This makes for intuitive, no holds-barred control with more precision. For safety issues, the device comprises a fall detection element based on an accelerometer sensor. If a fall or abrupt motion is detected, the companion app sends the user's GPS location to their emergency contacts. Combined with advanced control and real-time safety, this prosthetic hand enables increased independence, quicker response to emergency situations and an improved quality of life for its wearers.
